Scranton Drug Bust

After what Scranton law enforcement officials are calling a "significant" drug bust Friday night, police are warning other dealers that the city is cracking down on drug activity. According to this morning's Times-Tribune, the Scranton police force has added another officer and an inter-agency liaison to the city's drug unit, bringing its total personnel to six.

The arrests came after an accused dealer approached an undercover officer in the city and offered him a free sample of heroin, alledgedly promising that the buyer would return because of the narcotic's quality. Along with marijuana, pills, drug paraphernalia, and other items, police seized 10 bricks of heroin in the bust. Police estimate this amount to have been about a week's supply for the dealers.
