Happy (and safe) Halloween!

This weekend is a time for candy, costumes, and scary ghost stories. Trick-or-treaters will be gearing up for a night of fun in the neighborhoods of Scranton and its surrounding towns. They will not be the only ones hitting the streets this weekend, though; according to today's Times-Tribune, city police will conduct a special detail with uniformed and plainclothes officers to ensure the safety of Halloweeners and to watch out for anyone attempting to cause mischief.

Today's article serves as an important reminder to residents of NEPA to be extra cautious this weekend. Motorists need to be mindful of children in the streets, and stay well below the speed limits in residential areas - especially at night. Children should be encouraged to wear reflective gear when trick-or-treating, and parents should check the candy and treats recieved by their children.

As a Scranton personal injury attorney with over 20 years of legal experience, safety is a top priority for me. Serious injuries can be caused by an array of events, unexpected incidences and virtually any type of an accident. Be safe this Halloween weekend and always, and Happy Haunting!
